Love is in the air in the quiet Los Angeles County city of Vista Beach, home of computer programmer and decorative-painting enthusiast, Aurora (Rory) Anderson.

As Valentine’s Day approaches, residents are training for the annual Love Run and expressing their undying affection for each other by attaching love locks to the pier railings. But a string of bank robberies is ruining the romantic vibe.

While Rory helps friends prepare for a Valentine’s Day wedding, a body is found and the groom is implicated in the murder. Convinced of his innocence, Rory puts her heart into the investigation. Can she identify the killer before someone else encounters their own brush with death?

Q&A With the Author

What was your inspiration for writing this book?

All of my books in the Aurora Anderson series take place about 2 months apart. Since the last one was Christmas, this one falls in February so I thought Valentine’s Day would be a fun thing to write about. I also had this vision of a bank robber handing a teller a heart shaped note with the demand for money written on it. I decided to call him the Sweetheart Robber.

What did you enjoy most about writing this book?

Plotting and coming up with the characters. I also really like editing. The first drafts are always hard for me, but editing is fun.

Do you have any other books you are working on that you can tell us about?

I’ve got lots of ideas for stories. I’m starting a historical mystery series set in San Francisco in 1850. I haven’t gotten very far, but it should be interesting to write.

Can you tell us about what you have planned for the future?

Besides the historical, I’ve also gotten back into writing short stories. They’re a nice change of pace from writing a book.

Anything more you would like to say to your readers and fans?

Thank you to everyone who has read one of my books. I appreciate it. I hope you’ve enjoyed them.
