But something’s up at the Cove County Fair. When Camelia meets the keeper of a rescued tiger, she could not have predicted that keeper would soon be dead and the tiger gone missing. A rogue band of aggressive animal activists seems the obvious culprits, but they deny the act.

Only one entity knows the truth—the ghost cat Soji, but will the capricious spirit decide to come forward before someone else dies?

About Mollie Hunt

Cat Writer Mollie Hunt is the award-winning author of two cozy series, the Crazy Cat Lady Mysteries and the Tenth Life Mysteries. Her Cat Seasons Sci-Fantasy Tetralogy features extraordinary cats saving the world. Mollie also pens a bit of cat poetry.

Mollie is a member of the Oregon Writers’ Colony, Sisters in Crime, the Cat Writers’ Association, and Northwest Independent Writers Association (NIWA). She lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband and a varying number of cats.

Q&A With the Author
What did you enjoy most about writing this book?

Ghost Cat on the Midway, the second book in my Tenth Life Cozy series, was fun from the very start! Since it takes place at an old-fashioned county fair, I got to relive my own youth when I worked with my mum at such a fair. Of course we never had any murders back then, thankfully, nor did we have a ghost cat to help solve them.

Do you have any other books you are working on that you can tell us about?

I am currently polishing Cat’s Play, book #10 in my Crazy Cat Lady Cozy Mystery Series, for release on National Cat Day, October 29th. My ongoing sci-fantasy project, the Cat Seasons Tetralogy featuring cats saving the world (because—let’s face it—somebody has to, right?) is coming along nicely with the third instalment, Cat Autumn. There is also a cat-themed memoir that I’m thinking of publishing if I decide to get personal.

Can you tell us about what you have planned for the future?

I’ve already begun the next in the Tenth Life Cozy Series, Ghost Cat Christmas. In the opening scene, Camelia discovers what she thinks is a Christmas garland washed up on the beach. But it’s no decoration—it’s the sparkly red pumps on the feet of a dead woman’s body! I don’t know yet where it will go from there. I’m a “pantser,” not a plotter, so I let the characters, themselves, tell their story.

How long have you been writing?

Not counting the cat stories I wrote in Mrs. Wilson’s fourth grade class, it’s been about thirty years since I started—and finished—my first full-length mystery. There was another ten years, at about a manuscript a year, until I finally got something published. It’s never too late to follow a dream or realize one’s creative potential.

Be kind, be patient, be strong.
