#A2ZChallenge Theme Reveal : Literary Gold
Each year there is an annual Blogging Challenge that I like to participate in. This will be Literary Gold’s first year to join in the fun. It will be the fifth year for my other blog, Jingle Jangle Jungle.
How the challenge works:
During the month of April on Mondays through Saturdays- beginning with April 1, a blog post is written. Because this is the A to Z Challenge, the first blog post will have something to do with the letter ‘A’. The final blog post for the month will have something to do with the letter ‘Z’.
The participants are provided a ‘Master List’ of everyone joining in and we do our best to visit and comment on as many blogs as possible during the challenge. It’s truly a great way to network. I have found quite a few new blogs to enjoy throughout the year from this challenge.
So are you ready to find out what I’ve chosen for this blog’s theme?
According to Goodreads I have over 14,000 books in my TBR (to be read). I thought I would share with you what some of those books are. These are books that I own, but have not yet read. I'll be sharing books from a variety of genres.
Why so many books? Well.. thanks to the digital age and unlimited cloud, it makes it easy to hoard without books being strewn about or taking up space. And, I can take all of those books with me anywhere I go when I take my reading device. My current favorite reading device is my Fire Tablet because it has the text to speech function. I let my tablet read me a story while I work and do things around the house. It’s also handy for when I want to be spoiled and want someone to read me a bedtime story - and there is no one home but myself.
I will also be hosting a Giveaway during the challenge. You'll have to wait until the challenge begins for the details of the giveaway - but I personally think it's pretty cool!
Are you up for it? I sure hope so!
I’m off to go write and schedule some posts so I can concentrate on commenting and responding to comments during the challenge.
Be sure to subscribe so that you don't miss out on any of the posts. One benefit of subscribing - even though some days will have more than one post - you will only receive ONE email with links to the posts for this blog. Emails for Literary Gold are sent out daily at 2am Eastern time.
Subscribing is easy. If you are on a mobile device, click on the drop down and select 'Subscribe' then fill out the form. If you are on a desktop, there is a tab directly under the header on the left hand side. OR you can simply Click Here. I've put subscription forms for both blogs on one page to make it easier for you.
And also check out my theme reveal for my other blog Jingle Jangle Jungle!
Do you want to join the Challenge? Official sign ups are open until April 6.
Aren't you the ambitious blogger! I'm amazed that you have 14,000 books to read. Good luck with that, but probably you're a lot faster reader than I am.
ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to hear about some of these books.
Have fun!

Tossing It Out
Thanks, Lee!
DeleteI'm a little surprised at how quickly my library built up. I take advantage of those free and 99cent sales on Amazon and bookfunnel. Of course, I do have quite a few ARC that I've done reviews for.
Collecting books has been a bit of an addiction for me. At first, I didn't really pay attention to the genre of books I was picking up, but lately I've become more selective. And that text to speech thing has been a godsend for me. I don't know that I would get anything done without it.
Thanks for putting together this fun challenge. I look forward to joining the fun with everyone else.
~Mary
Hah, fun idea! Also, that's a lot of books, but I also have an e-reader, and my TBR list is probably fairly long as well :D Maybe people will give you some recommendations on which ones to read next! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Multicolored Diary
That's a great idea!
DeleteThanks for stopping by.
~Mary
And I thought my TBR was unmanageable! :) Cool theme idea. Best of luck with the challenge.
ReplyDeleteWhat, you've got HOW MANY unread books...? Good thing you are doing something about it!

haha!
DeleteI am making a small dent in the pile. The problem is I keep adding on faster than I am reading - but I do read every day
~Mary
Will look forward to discovering new books and authors from your April posts! Good luck.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dola!
DeleteAwesome theme, Mary! My theme last year was books, so I'll sure be looking forward to your posts...I always need something new to read. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteI hope I don't disappoint with my selections. Am really looking forward to this challenge.

What a delight to find someone with a TBR list that rivals mine. I'm looking forward to your posts, even though I suspect you'll be adding even more titles to my list. Here's to a fun April.
ReplyDeleteHa! I'm always adding more to my list. This is going to be fun!

Hello Mary! I love books and would be thrilled to be back here to add to my TBR. 14000! That sounds almost as big as a public library. Awesome! Wish you the best with A2Z challenge this year
ReplyDeleteI thought my TBR pile of over 300 books was big but yours is brilliant! Can't wait to see what books you choose
